Frank Barnes, Ph.D, Laboratory Director
Dr. Barnes is an accomplished scientist and well-known embryologist whose career began in the late 1970's.
Dr. Barnes is recently one of the few investigators in the world to produce a healthy child from in vitro
maturation of human immature oocytes. Dr. Barnes received his Masters Degree from the University of Missouri
and Doctoral degree from the University of Wisconsin. He has worked in field of Assisted Reproductive Technologies
for almost two decades.From 1994 until joining Dr. Zouves at Zouves Fertility Center in Janurary 2000, Dr. Barnes was the Executive Laboratory Director at Pacific Fertility Centers. He is a pioneer in the area of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and has managed and trained more than twelve embryologists in the procedure, including the embryologists currently working at Zouves Fertility Center. Dr. Barnes has also instituted many laboratory technological changes that have contributed to improved pregnancy outcome by over thirty percent. In addition to being Laboratory Director at Zouves Fertility Center, Dr. Barnes is the President of IVF Labs, L.L.C., which provides laboratory services to (IVF) centers throughout the United States.
